Biography

Dr. Matthew Mouritsen is the President of Academica West. Prior to joining Academica West, Mr. Mouritsen served three years as the Dean of the Goddard School of Business & Economics at Weber State University. During his career at Weber State, he served for 11 years as the Director of the MBA Program and as a professor in the School of Accounting & Taxation for over 20 years. Prior to joining Weber State, he was a technology manager in the banking sector. He also served as a founding member and Financial Coordinator of Bridge Elementary. Mr. Mouritsen’s areas of expertise include teaching, leadership, trust and ethics, strategic management accounting, technology asset management, quality management, project management, accreditation, and assurance of learning. In completing his PhD degree, his dissertation was entitled The Development and Application of a Model Total Quality Education Approach to Utah School Districts, which remains applicable to K-12 education in Utah.
